"As an athlete that trains almost everyday, taking Michelle's classes are like a breath of fresh air. Her directions are clear, her voice is calming, and you can tell she enjoys and knows what she's talking about. The constant check in and agency to listen to the body instead of pushing it is exactly what I need in my practice. Take her classes!!"
-Goddess, Pole Instructor, Performer & Personal Trainer
"As a yoga teacher specializing in meditation, yin, and ASMR yoga, I deeply appreciate thoughtful, intentional movement practices. I've attended a wide variety of Michelle's classes for pole dancers, and what stands out most is her strong focus on injury prevention and stability. Her classes are incredibly well-structured and, most importantly, customized to the needs of the students in that specific session. She has a keen eye for what each body needs and adapts accordingly. I remember coming into one class with noticeable neck and shoulder tension, and I left feeling significantly more relaxed, supported, and aligned. Michelle creates a space that feels both intelligent and intuitive — a rare and valuable combination. I highly recommend her classes to anyone looking to build strength safely while feeling truly cared for in the process."
-Tina Lee, Yoga Teacher
"Training with Michelle has been the highlight of my pole journey for the past few months! She's helped me prioritize rest and promoted recovery of my mild rotator cuff injury.. now begin and end every practice with a gentle thorough stretch to prepare my pole flows ranging from ballerinas to leg hangs and it's a practice I'll use moving forward with my students! Injury prevention can be fun!"
-Rhajanay, Pole Instructor & Student
Hello, my name is Michelle, and I am based in St. Petersburg, Florida. My journey into yoga began at the age of 16 when a dear friend introduced me to classes, igniting a profound love for the practice that has continued to flourish. In 2023, I completed my 200-hour teacher training through Yoga with Carson Academy.
In the past year, I've navigated one of my most challenging and transformative experiences: healing from bilateral thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS)—a condition where nerves and blood vessels become compressed in the space between your collarbone and first rib. After a year of dedicated physical therapy, I finally received an MRI that revealed the full picture: infraspinatus muscle strain (one of your rotator cuff muscles), supraspinatus tendinosis (tendon degeneration from overuse), bursitis (inflammation of the fluid-filled sacs that cushion your shoulder), and minimal acromioclavicular joint issues (where your collarbone meets your shoulder blade).
This journey has deepened my understanding of the body in profound ways. I've learned firsthand how injury can be both a teacher and a catalyst for growth. My experience gives me unique insight into working with students who are recovering from injuries, dealing with chronic pain, or navigating their own healing journeys. I understand anatomy not just from textbooks, but from living through the rehabilitation process—and I can help you understand your body and any injuries you may be working through.
My teaching philosophy embraces a light and playful approach, balanced with the wisdom that comes from respecting the body's limits and honoring its healing process. I believe that yoga should be a source of joy and comfort, creating space for both stira (steadiness and effort) and sukha (ease). My classes blend these principles through fluid movements that foster a harmonious connection between body and breath.
Incorporating yoga into your routine can significantly enhance flexibility, strength, and body awareness—key components for improving performance, preventing injury, and supporting recovery. I welcome students from all walks of life: beginners exploring the fundamentals of stretching, advanced yogis seeking to deepen their practice, pole dancers looking to elevate their skills, and anyone navigating their own healing journey. I look forward to meeting you on the mat!
